1 CSH CO’s Opening Address

Dear fellow soldiers of 1 CSH,

During the previous ICT in Jan 2026, our various platoons and companies of our CSH exercised our ability to perform our tasks in medical care and hospital support. This we performed with distinction, with 1 CSH achieving the top readiness condition score during assessment at the ICT!

In the upcoming ICT, we will take our success one step further, exercising our capability to work together as a cohesive unit and team. This will involve us going out of Nee Soon Camp for a 2 day 1 night exercise, managing simulated casualties who come for treatment to our CSH, and integrating with other units in the SAF such as a Combat Service Support Battalion and the RSAF Helimedivac Squadron, who we work alongside with in the field to support our soldiers.

The ICT will involve us training and preparing together towards our exercise objectives, performing our exercise tasks well and safely, as well as learning lessons from the exercise and the whole ICT to bring us to our desired outcomes for our CSH and for ourselves: greater heights of competency, capability and confidence.

This we will do with the key mindsets we will together carry in this ICT in our training and exercise - comprehensive, coordinated and with camaraderie. It will be challenging, and also fulfilling and fun, as we do this together as teammates and friends. Whatever role we play in this unit, be it Surgical company, Treatment and Ward Company, Support Company, Battalion Staff and HQ, or Personnel Support Platoon, let us fulfil our roles with distinction, and outside these assumed roles, let us be present with each other, to support each other in and beyond this ICT.

Keep fit, stay strong, see you soon!

Yours truly,

LTC (NS)(DR) TAN BANGWEI, MARK CO 1 CSH
